Visits, Tastings, and Walks Through Our Vineyards in Douzens (Aude)

Wine Tourism in the Corbières

At the edge of the village of Douzens, in the Aude, 25 minutes from Carcassonne and 30 minutes from Narbonne, our small certified organic wine farm stretches out between the vineyards and the garrigue, along the Corbières route. We love having people over for a tasting in the cellar, a walk through the vineyards, or both!

What Visit Options Do We Offer?

We offer three options, depending on what you’re in the mood for and how much time you’ve got, from the simplest to the most immersive. All visits are by appointment only, Monday through Saturday (depending on the winemaker’s availability).

Simple Tasting (30 min.)

You drop by the cellar, we uncork a few bottles, we chat, and you leave with whatever you liked. Easy as pie. The perfect option if you’re passing through the Corbières and want to bring some wine home.

Free

(with wine purchase)

Discovery Tasting (1 hr.)

A tasting led by the winemaker, with no obligation to buy. We take the time to tell you about the estate, our organic approach, our cuvées, and the story behind each bottle. The perfect option for anyone who’s got a flight to catch.

€20/person

(Groups of 6+ = €15/person)

Tasting + Walk (2 hrs.)

We take a botanical walk in the vineyards, we discover local edible and medicinal plants and learn about the history of viticulture in the area. Then we come back to the winery for a commented tasting with the winemaker.

€30/person

(Groups of 6+ = €20/person)

Accepted payment methods: cash, credit or debit card, check.

And to Keep the Good Times Going: Snacks

Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting the Estate

Where to find us?

We’re at 134 avenue des Corbières, 11700 Douzens, easy to reach from Carcassonne (28 km), Narbonne (35 km), Lagrasse (22 km), and the Abbaye de Fontfroide (31 km).

Is there parking on site?

Yes.

Do you need to book ahead?

Yes, all visits are by appointment, even the free tasting. This is a small wine farm: the winemaker is often out in the vineyards or down in the cellar, and we’d rather welcome you properly than leave you waiting around.

What’s the best time of year to visit?

The estate is open year-round by appointment. Spring and summer bring the vines in full growth and the garrigue plants in full bloom. Harvest season (late August / September) lets you see the work going on in the cellar. Fall brings spectacular colors, and winter is your chance to see the winemaking process in action.

Is the cellar accessible to everyone?

Yes, since the cellar is on the ground floor, people with reduced mobility can get in.

Is the vineyard walk accessible to everyone?

No, because access is limited by the conditions in the vineyard: the dirt paths aren’t suited for strollers or wheelchairs. Bring closed-toe shoes, a hat in summer, and something to keep you well protected from the cold and wind in winter.

Do you take groups?

Yes, up to 15 people comfortably. Beyond that, we can work something out on request (extended families, company groups, wine clubs). Discounted rate for 6 or more people.

Is the estate really certified organic?

Yes, the estate is certified organic. No chemical weed killers, no synthetic fertilizers, mechanical soil tilling, protected biodiversity between the rows (it’s what you’ll see on the botanical walk).

Are kids welcome?

Of course. Kids don’t pay for the tasting (homemade grape juice on request). The walk through the vineyards is often a great time for them — there are birds, insects, smells, and stories.

Can you buy wine on site?

Yes, direct sales at the estate at producer prices. You can also order remotely after your visit — we ship within mainland France.

What is there to do around the estate after your visit?

Several options within 30 minutes: Lagrasse (a medieval village), the Cité de Carcassonne (UNESCO), the Abbaye de Fontfroide, the Orbieu gorges, or the rest of the Corbières route toward Tuchan and Cucugnan.

A visit to the estate means meeting the winemaker, the landscape, and the wines that come from it. See you soon in Douzens.
